Oregon State University was established in 1858 as Corvallis College. OSU Army ROTC was established in 1872. During WWII OSU Army ROTC became known as the “West Point of the West”, for commissioning more officers than any other ROTC program in the country. OSU remains the leading source of commissions in Oregon; our ROTC graduates continue their proud history of dedicated service to the nation, while other cadets accept the challenges of the ROTC program as they prepare to be tomorrow's leaders.
