Center for Writing and Learning

Provides assistance with every stop of the writing process. Peer writing tutors provide critical feedback on writing assignments and will assist students with many aspects of writing for academic purposes.

Computer Labs

There are several labs on campus which provide access to computers for free. Each lab offers access to the World Wide Web, E-mail, and a multitude of software programs. Students sign for their E-mail account in MCC 150.

Educational Opportunities Program

A support program which provides the following services to its students: assistance with admission to OSU, orientation, academic, personal, and financial aid advising, developmental courses, free tutoring, and job search.

Ethnic Studies Department

The first such department in the state, ES department offers classes that fulfill Baccalaureate Core requirements and are filled with experiential learning and the opportunity to learn about topics rarely taught anywhere else. Students can major in ES or just take a few classes.

Financial Aid Office

Provides assistance and advice to students who would be unable to pursue their education without such help. Scholarships grants, loans, and part-time employment are available to meet the difference between the reasonably expected expenditure and the cost of attending OSU.

Library - Multicultural Collection

Provides assistance to students in researching a topic or a particular resource. The university has been making a strong attempt to build up the number of resources dealing with the A/PA experience.

All regularly enrolled OSU students are eligible for services. UCPS provides brief interventions that assist students in problem resolution, skill building, and mental health support in order to maintain academic progress.

Asian Cultural Center (ACC)

Serves to retain A/PA students through facilities, events and activities, support services and leadership development opportunities. It is designed to be a "home away from home".

Campus Security Services

Assists the campus community in providing a safe environment for learning, research, and public service. Officers are available to help on issues ranging from crime prevention to campus lighting and bicycle safety.

Career Services provides career and employment services and resources for undergraduates, graduates, and alumni. Provides advising to resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search strategies and co-op and internship opportunities.

Math Learning Center

One-on-one help is available from faculty, graduate, and undergraduate tutors on a drop-in basis from 9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday, from the 2nd week of the term until the end of dead week (week before finals).

Legal Advising

Provides free legal advising. The ASOSU attorneys handle problems such as: landlord-tenant issues, consumer problems, traffic infractions, accidents, wills, criminal matters, and family law.

Saferide

Saferide is an ASOSU student fee funded service dedicated to providing personal safety, rape awareness education and a safe transportation alternative for women at OSU.

Student Advocate
MU East, 737-6329
Provides professional services to student groups. Advocates offer advice and direction for increasing membership, raising funds, dealing with university policies and procedures, and resolving conflicts with administration and faculty.

Student Conduct & Mediation Program

Serves as the central coordinating office for violation of University Student Conduct Regulations. It also provides mediation services and conflict resolution educational programs to the university community.

Student Health Services
PSHC, 737-WELL
Provides comprehensive primary health care, disease prevention and treatment services, as well as health education for all registered OSU students. A quarterly health fee makes students eligible for most practitioner visits without a charge.

Women's Center
Benton Annex, 737-3186
Provides and environment which is welcoming and accepting of all individuals in the university community, and advocates for women students, faculty, and staff regarding issues of concern to them.
