The A/PA Education Office is committed to assisting Asian/Pacific American Students at Oregon State University with their academic, professional, and personal growth through educational and cultural programs.

  Six A's of Success

Assessment

The following will be asked periodically to meet the needs of A/PA students: Who are the A/PA's on campus? What financial, leadership, and career opportunities are available? What do the students do for fun? What are the pressing issues that these students face?

Awareness

Raising awareness about the diversity and needs of the A/PA community is a key for creating an environment that is conducive to learning. Such awareness will be raised within both the A/PA and the larger OSU/Corvallis communities through educational and cultural programs.

Advocacy

This office will provide advocacy for students and their issues in an attempt to promote their growth. This effort is done by collaborating and building coalitions with other advocates on campus and in the local community.

Active

Outreach efforts will be made to foster quality educational opportunities for students. These include, but are not limited to: program efforts in residence halls, workshops for students, and training/presentations for faculty, staff, and community members.

Access

Students will have access to various opportunities to increase their growth and experience during their tenure at OSU. Services and information provided include: advising, referral, internship/career opportunities, scholarships, and graduate schools.

Accountability

Each person at OSU and in the surrounding community has the responsibility to hold one another accountable for its commitment to serving students and celebrating diversity. In order to affirm our commitment, it takes everybody, including you. Together, we can make a difference!
