 2008 Yamhill
Archaeology Field School 

The archaeological field school will be held at the 1856-1866 site of Fort Yamhill near Grand Ronde, Oregon. Learn modern archaeological field methods including excavation, survey, mapping, artifact identification, and analytical techniques. Transportation to and from the site will be provided from the OSU campus. The field school will begin July 1.

2008 American Bar
Archaeology Field School

Spend five weeks in the beautiful lower Salmon River Canyon of western Idaho as learn and practice a range of professional archaeological ecavation, recordation, analysis, and survey techniques. Live in a field camp as we continue our careful investigation of the long history of human occupation at the American Bar Site.

2008 Anthropology Awards Banquet

  

The Anthropology Dept. held its annual awards banquet on 9 June, 2008 at Iovino's Restaurant on the riverfront in Corvallis. Approximately 30 faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends were in attendance. After a brief presentation by David McMurray, Chair, of new developments within the Department, 5 awards were handed out, each one carrying a $1,000 gift.
