Depth and Breadth in
Agriculture Courses Requirement

To be admitted into the Teacher Education Program in Agricultural Education, a depth and breadth in agriculture requirement must be met. This can be met by taking the following coursework:

  • AG 111 (3) - Computer Applications in Agriculture
  • Two or more of the following:
    • AG 221 (3) - Metals and Welding
    • AG 312 (3) - Engine Theory and Operation
    • AG 412 (3) - Agricultural Safety and Health
  • AREC 211 (4) - Management in Agriculture
  • AREC 221 (3) - Marketing in Agriculture
  • CSS 300 (4) - Introduction to Crop Production
  • CSS 205 (4) - Soils: Sustainable Ecosystems
  • HORT 301 (4) - Principles of Horticultural Technology I
  • HORT 302 (4) - Principles of Horticultural Technology II
  • One of the following:
    • ANS 210 (3) - Applied Animal Nutrition: Feeds and Feed Processing
    • ANS 310 (3) - Applied Animal Nutrition: Ration Formulation
  • ANS 231 (2) - Livestock Evaluation
  • ANS 121 (4) - Introduction to Animal Sciences
  • One Natural Resources course (3 cr.) in one of the following areas:
    • Range
    • Fisheries and Wildlife
    • Forestry
