Major Jay D. McMullen is the Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and the Operations Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Detachment 685 at Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon. Major McMullen is responsible for all facets of cadet training and discipline, including directing/supervising leadership laboratory, field training preparation, military discipline and career guidance. He also teaches the AS300 course. Major McMullen entered active duty service in 1993 and commissioned through Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell Air Force Base in 2008. Prior to arriving at Oregon State University Detachment 685, Major McMullen was assigned to the 341st Operations Support Squadron at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana where he served as Chief, ICBM Codes Training and was responsible for receiving and maintaining United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) nuclear launch code materials.
