Captain Josh S. Burnett is the Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and the Recruiting Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC), Detachment 685 at Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon. Captain Burnett is responsible for all facets of the recruiting process which includes recruiting, retention, motivating and educating Air Force officer candidates through the start of a comprehensive college program. He also teaches the AS100 and AS200 courses. Captain Burnett entered active duty service in 2009, commissioning through AFROTC at Detachment 425, Mississippi State University. Prior to arriving at Oregon State University Detachment 685, Captain Burnett was assigned to the 673d Communications Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK. Captain Burnett has served in a variety of positions to include Executive Officer to the Commander of both the 673d Mission Support Group and the 673d Air Base Wing.
