REPORT FROM ACADEMIC PROGRAMS (B. Burton)
No report.
IV. OLD
BUSINESS
A.
Draft policy on expansion of programs to OSU Cascades Campus. The
Council reviewed policy statements drafted by the Graduate Council and the
Office of Academic Programs concerning review of proposals to expand programs
to OSU Cascades. The Council wanted a
library assessment to be part of the review process. The Council also wanted faculty who are involved in delivery of
the instructional programs to be included in decisions to expand their programs
to OSU Cascades. Proposals for program
expansions to OSU Cascades will be processed through the current online
curriculum review system, with the understanding that proposals can be brought
before the entire Curriculum Council for discussion at any stage of
review.
Decision: Bob Burton will revise the
policy statement on program expansion to OSU Cascades Campus to incorporate the
Curriculum Council’s suggestions. The
policy statement will then be sent to the Curriculum Council via email for
comments, to the Graduate Council, and ultimately to the Executive Committee
for approval.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. MS Counseling to OSU
Cascades. Decision: The proposal to offer the MS in Counseling at OSU
Cascades has been approved. Henceforth,
the protocol for approving such program expansions will follow the process
discussed earlier in the meeting.
