Native Plant Restoration Seed Bank
In Cooperation with the City of Portland, Bureau of Environmental Services
The City of Portland leases one acre of land adjacent to Miley Road for a long-term seed collection area of native vegetation used in restoration plantings. Specimen plants located at NWREC are used for seed collection prior to their propagation and use in watershed and invasive species eradication areas. Included in the restoration seed bank are native conifer and deciduous trees and shrubs. The City anticipates adding understory plants between the rows of plant material now located at NWREC. The City appreciates having their restoration seed bank at NWREC due to our secure location and proximity to the metropolitan area. This project is expected to continue for the next 5 to 10 years.
A site plan and species list will be prepared by the City during 2012 and posted at this map location in the coming months.
