NAAFE Forum 2011 Second CallNAAFE is pleased to announce that we will again be holding a Best Student Paper contest in conjunction with this Forum.
For details, please visit http://oregonstate.edu/Dept/IIFET/NAAFE/NAAFEBSPRules.pdf The North American Association of Fisheries Economists (NAAAFE) 2011 Forum Website is now up and running.
Please visit http://www.xcdsystem.com/naafe/
for all you need to submit your abstract, and eventually to register for the conference. Among other useful information, you'll find: The website will be continually updated as new information becomes available. The ABSTRACT SUBMISSION part of the site is now open and working,
so please submit your 250 word abstract, or a proposal for a special session, between now and January 14. Some helpful hints to aid the smooth submission of your abstract: the first time you enter the site, you'll
be asked to create a profile. The system will send you your username and a randomly generated password, which
you will need to enter the site the next time you return. After you set up your profile you'll be taken automatically to the abstract submission page. You'll put in
your title and abstract, and you will also need to set up your co-authors in the system. You will need to put
their names, addresses, and email addresses into a form. They will receive email indicating they've been named
as co-authors. NEW for NAAFE: If you are interested in organizing a SPECIAL SESSION on a topic in which you have expertise
and interest, please submit a proposal on the website. You will be asked for a Title, Format, Duration, Description,
and Major Topic. On the next screen you will be asked for "co-authors". In this case, that means the other individuals
who will present in your proposed session. To submit a proposal for a special session go to the NAAFE Forum menu, select Abstract Submission, then Author
Submission Center, then you'll be able to choose whether to submit an abstract or a session proposal. The Forum Scientific Committee looks forward to reviewing your abstracts and proposals, and we all look forward
to meeting again in Honolulu next May. The first call for abstracts, containing the themes and topics, appears below. NAAFE Forum 2011 First CallPlease plan to join us for NAAFE Forum 2011, "The Economics of Conflict and Co-existence in an Increasingly Crowded Ocean",
