2. NEW!!! Eligible papers may address issues in either OECD or non-OECD countries and can cover any aspect of fisheries policy. The prize, sponsored by the OECD, will include a $500 check, a certificate, and publication of the paper in the OECD Working Paper series (subject to the consent of the author). See http://oregonstate.edu/dept/IIFET/IIFET2008OECD.html for details and instructions.
3. IIFET 2008 Vietnam Best Student Paper Prize: Student authors from all countries are eligible to compete. This year's prize, supported by the US NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Fisheries Office, will include a $500 check, and up to $2000 in travel support. 4. IIFET 2008 Vietnam CRSP Best Student Aquaculture Paper Prize: Student authors from all countries who are authors of papers focused on aquaculture economics-related topics are eligible to compete. 6. JIFRS-Yamamoto Prizes: Participants from developing countries presenting a paper which is useful in encouraging the rational development of responsible national fisheries in his or her own country are eligible to apply for these awards, which include a $500 check, plus a partial travel support grant of $1000 from Dr. Tadashi Yamamoto. Up to two JIFRS-Yamamoto prizes will be offered in conjunction with IIFET 2008 Vietnam. See http://oregonstate.edu/dept/IIFET/IIFET2008Yamamoto.html for details and instructions.
7. Other, as yet unconfirmed sources: There is a small possibility that some additional, limited sources of financial support will be identified prior to the conference. To make a request, please send email to Dr. Hao Le Van; include your full name, email address, mailing address, proposed paper title, and an estimate of the support you will require, by major line item (eg. airfare, registration, lodging, other). Your ability to leverage partial support from the conference organizer with support from other sources will improve your chances. However, please note that as of this writing, we have been unable to identify significant sources of general support. It is thus very important that you a) continue seeking other sources of travel support and b) inform Dr. Hao in good time in the event that you will be unable to attend the conference, and officially withdraw your abstract.
