IIFET 2008 Vietnam: Aquaculture Economics Professional (non-student) Travel Awards

Please read and follow these steps very carefully.
1. Submit your abstract through the normal abstract submission process. It makes no difference whether you use the early bird (October 20, 2007 deadline) or regular (January 20, 2008 deadline) process. Visit http://www.x-cd.com/iifet08/abstract.cfm to submit your abstract online. If you are unable to use the website, contact Dr. Hao Le Van to request an emailable submission form.
2. Once your abstract has been accepted, you may proceed to the next step: preparation of an extended abstract of up to 1000 words in length. Your topic must be relevant to aquaculture economics in the developing world. Please do not submit an extended abstract for consideration unless your short abstract is accepted by the Scientific Committee. The deadline is April 20, 2008. Email your extended abstract, as an attachment in Word (or Word Perfect) format, to Ann.L.Shriver@oregonstate.edu. In the body of your email message, please provide a brief line-item budget indicating the type of expenses you are requesting, and approximate amounts (eg. "Airfare: $1500, Lodging: $250"). Note that your ability to leverage the funds provided by IIFET with other funds from other sources, will be a positive factor in selection of the awardees.
3. The participants to receive these awards will be selected by May 20, 2008; all applicants will be informed by email. The winner will receive travel support in the amount of up to $1,800, administered by the IIFET Secretariat. IIFET can provide the winners with an air ticket through our travel agent, lodging, and/or provide money for food and related travel expenses. You will need to comply with the travel reimbursement procedures of Oregon State University. IIFET Executive Director Ann Shriver will provide further detailed information to the winners.
Note: any expenses in excess of $1800 must be covered by the award winners. The award winners are required to present their own papers at the conference, and the papers must be submitted for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
