Healthy Campus Initiative

Purpose of the Healthy Campus Initiative

The Healthy Campus Initiative is a collaborative approach to prevention initiatives and response efforts at Oregon State University. The initiative provides for strategic planning, policy review and development, ongoing training and development, assessment of situations and outcomes, and comprehensive, interconnected leadership for the campus community. A coalition will develop common resources for faculty, staff, and students.

Alcohol Work Group (AWG) Purpose: To address underage and excessive alcohol use issues at Oregon State University by developing a comprehensive strategic plan for creating a safe and healthy environment on campus and in the surrounding community.

Purpose: The Human Services Resource Center will provide programs, education and referral services to students on Oregon State University campus affected by hunger or poverty. The primary function of the center is to assist students and refer them to services in the community to help meet their needs. Students struggle to pay for tuition, books, and housing, in addition to securing services and supports that are necessary to succeed in college.
Community Care Team (CCT)

The Community Care Team (CCT) is focused on education, training and effective coordination of resources on campus for student well-being. The CCT also acts in an advisory capacity for the SCT to consider trends, gaps and needs to broadly support the OSU community.

OSU Veterans Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee provides a global perspective on issues affecting veterans and their families, at OSU, in the state of Oregon and beyond. The advisory committee provides consultation to the Veteran Workgroup to ensure the availability of OSU and community resources to provide a broad based support for veterans and their families.

The Workgroup identifies, coordinates and implements programs and services that assist Veterans and their families in making a successful transition, both academically and personally, into the OSU community.
Spiritual Life @ OSU

The stated purpose of Spiritual Life @ OSU is to provide a framework within which advisers of recognized Religious/Spiritual/Philosophical Organizations at OSU may, within the limits determined by their respective convictions, cooperate to:
  1. acknowledge the value of spiritual pursuit and development among the OSU community
  2. fulfill the common purposes of their work within OSU
  3. serve and support OSU
  4. provide a platform for communication and referral between OSU Religious/Spiritual/Philosophical Organizations and the larger OSU community through regular meetings

Student Care Team (SCT)

Student Care Team (SCT) is focused on action and response, addressing student concerns and concerns about student behavior that may be disruptive to the integrity of the learning environment. The SCT works closely with Public Safety and a small group of representatives from campus whose role is to support students in crisis or in need of inter-disciplinary problem-solving.
