Media Manager

OSU Media Manager facilitates the conversion of various media formats for easy embedding and distribution. The system empowers users with the ability to control their own media. Faculty, staff and students may upload media content themselves to OSU servers where the conversion of the content is automated. Once the piece of media is encoded, the owners of the content receives an e-mail notification..

OSU Media Manager is intended for media distribution, not archiving. It is important that you keep your original source material. The uploaded file is removed from the server when the encoding process is completed.  Encoded media will be deleted from the server after two years if it is not renewed by the owner. The owners of the media may extend the expiration period up to two years, as frequently as they like using the Media Manager administrative interface. Thirty days prior to the media being expired, the owners will receive an e-mail notification advising them of the impending deletion.

Content uploaded to OSU servers is expected to conform to the OSU Acceptable Use Policy.

The content provided through OSU Media Manager is available to the public.  Unadvertised content does not appear on the OSU Media Manager site. The responsibility to distribute the location of an unadvertised video falls on the owner of that content. If the location of that content be made available to persons not warranting access, the only way to correct this is to delete the video and resubmit the media.

There are no limits on the duration of videos or their size, nor is there a limit on the number of videos that may be uploaded by a user. There is no cost to you for the use of OSU Media Manager.
