What CWS can do for you

Select services have been restored to CWS web hosting. These services include ssh and sftp and write access for most applications like Drupal. Regular FTP access remains disabled.  If you need information on accessing your site via FTP, please visit the CWS Getting Access webpage.

For access from off-campus locations, please use the VPN client. Information on using a VPN connection can be found on the CWS Getting Access webpage or from Network Engineering.

Central Web Services web servers were subject to an attack this weekend.  Due to this,  a number of services have been temporarily disabled to CWS sites, including ssh and ftp access.  Personnel are currently working to clean up this incident.  Central Web Services hosts oregonstate.edu and many other sites in the oregonstate.edu domain.

For users accessing a web page, you may receive a message that states something similar to:  "Warning:  Visiting this site may harm your computer...site contains malware"

We released an updated version of Drupal into the development environment on Thursday, October 22nd.

The update includes:

• Various theme fixes for OSU Orange, including
  • Images no longer have a default gray border
• Various theme fixes for OSU Grey, including
  • Corrected IE6 issue for custom view content width
• Latest version of the Emfield module
• Fix for a search problem when an image was used as the search button (existed in OSU Orange and some custom themes)
• Copyright and Disclaimer links on OSU Themes
• Various 508 accessibility fixes to OSU Themes
