Standards
Entire organizations like the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) are dedicated to maintaining web standards. Their mission is simple: to unleash the full potential of the Web. Central Web Services supports a usable, accessible, meaningful and open World Wide Web. One of the best ways we contribute to this cause is through developing high quality sites that meet acceptable standards. Our pages are designed according to XHTML and CSS specifications to improve consistency across browsers and platforms, which ultimately makes the pages we create more available to everyone.

Web standards aim to set a precedent for how things are done, and equal access to information is an integral part of that precedent. In following web standards, Central Web Services inherently contributes to overall accessibility. Additionally, we adhere to the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative Guidelines in order to ensure proper implementation of standards-compliant markup languages. We also work cooperatively with university programs like the Oregon State University Technology Access Program to check that our work meets state and federal requirements.
Advanced Technologies
All Central Web Services projects are developed using the latest hardware and software tools. We possess state of the art server technology for all of our hosting services and apply modern, license-free software tools like PHP and MySQL. Our development process is aided by the use of tools like phpDoc, SVN, the W3C Validation Service, and Bugzilla. All of our operations are supported by widespread, robust, secure, and free industry standards in web hosting like Debian Linux and Apache.
Customer Service
Despite our technical background, our team has always been friendly and easy to work with. We have excellent customer service skills that were gained working for various technical support groups on campus such as Computer Consulting and the Community Network. As members of the Oregon State community, we understand the university and its mission.
