University-Wide Teaching Excellence develops and implements core workshops and consulting services in support of OSU instructors. In the initial phase the particular emphasis will be placed on foundational issues in teaching and learning applicable across disciplines, and the needs of GTA’s, faculty and instructors new to teaching at OSU.

  • Design and deliver workshops on effective pedagogy, course design and classroom assessment with a particular emphasis on foundational issues in teaching and learning applicable across disciplines, and the needs of GTAs, faculty and instructors new to teaching at OSU.
  • Conduct individual consultations and classroom visits with OSU instructors to support improvements in teaching and learning.
  • Assess the workshops and services under the Assistant Director’s purview.
  • Conduct outreach to campus teaching and learning units to determine needs for future CTL program development.
  • Research and report on national trends and best practices in pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment and faculty and GTA development.
