WHO: All OSU faculty and staff members are invited to participate in this free event, which is brought to you by the Office of Academic Programs, Assessment, and Accreditation and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

WHAT: This year’s Academy highlights assessment of student learning in the Baccalaureate Core. This all-day event will feature a poster contest, interactive presentations, break-out sessions, and awards.

WHERE: Cascade Ballroom of the CH2M Hill Alumni Center

POSTER SESSION (with CASH PRIZES): Faculty members are invited to present posters highlighting assessment practices and impacts at Oregon State University. Posters on Baccalaureate Core assessment are encouraged, but all entries related to assessment are welcome. Cash prizes will be awarded. Academy participants will participate in judging.

Grand Prize: $500
Honorable Mentions: $250

If you or someone in your unit would like to present a poster and compete for these cash awards, please contact Stefani.Dawn@oregonstate.edu (541-737-0919) and plan to submit a 100-word abstract for your poster no later than January 10, 2013.

NEW REQUEST FOR GRANT PROPOSALS: Several assessment development grants were funded by Academic Affairs/APAA in 2011-2012. Awardees included Judy Bowker (Speech Communication) and Shireen Hyrapiet (Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences). The request for proposals for a new round of grants will go out in conjunction with the Academy.
