The USDA-ARS-CPCRC meteorological
monitoring network has been developed to collect accurate and reliable
meteorological data for research purposes, and to assist the local growing
community determine climatic effects on agricultural systems.
The monitoring network currently consists of 2 remote stations, plus the on-site
station at the Pendleton Agricultural Research Center (3 total stations).
The remote stations are located on various cooperator properties in eastern
Oregon (see map link).
Stations
measure and collect wind speed, wind direction, air temperature,
relative humidity, soil temperature, solar radiation, precipitation,
soil moisture, and calculated evapotranspiration (in various
configurations). Data for sites that have been retired or have no
telemetry are also available upon request.
