Pre-doctoral Internship Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a minimum of 1200 hours of total supervised practica in applied counseling or clinical work by the time of application with a minimum of 450 direct clinical adult hours. Previous experience in counseling centers is preferred.
All coursework toward the doctoral degree must be completed by the beginning of the internship year. Required courses that will be taken later in the year before internship should be listed on the AAPI form.
Comprehensive exams, or their equivalent, for the doctoral program must be completed with results reported to the applicant by December of the year of application.
We prefer that you have proposed your dissertation by the time internship begins.
