Frequently Asked Questions about group therapy

About this service:

Group therapy provides a safe and confidential place to share and
explore concerns as well as receive support around various issues. Many
groups are being offered at CAPS such as process-oriented groups (helps
people cope and provides opportunity for change and growth), support
groups (helps people cope and problem solve) and psychoeducational
groups (provides information about a topic and provides support).

To utilize this service:

Most of our groups require a 20 minute meeting where you will learn
more about the group and decide with the facilitator(s) if it is the
best "fit" for you. The group facilitator is listed and should be
contacted if you need more information or are interested in
participating in the group. If you are not sure what group you may be
interested in call and ask to speak with the groups coordinator who
will be able to assist you in choosing a group that is appropriate for
your needs. You can reach us at (541) 737-2131, on the 5th floor of Snell Hall. Please let us know if you need disability accomodations.
