The city of Portland, Oregon hosted the 9th World Conference on Timber Engineering. The conference is part of the continuing series of conferences previously held in Seattle (1988), Tokyo (1990), London (1991), New Orleans (1996), Montreux (1998), Whistler (2000), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia (2002), and Lahti, Finland (2004).
