14th US-Japan Seminar on Dielectric and Piezoelectric Materials

October 11-14, 2009
Resort at the Mountain
Welches, Oregon, United States

The Fourteenth (14th) U.S.-Japan Workshop on Dielectric and Piezoelectric Materials will take place from October 11-14, 2009. The meeting will take place at the Resort At the Mountain, Welches, Oregon. Participants include leading U.S. and Japanese university and industrial scientists in the field of electronic ceramics. Held every two years, alternating from the U.S. and Japan, the workshop is a closed meeting with approximately 100 participants by “invitation only.” The format of the meeting fosters a highly interactive environment for technical exchange between US and Japanese researchers. The US contingent at the meeting will include scientists from universities, national laboratory facilities, including NIST, NRL, PNNL, and Army Research Laboratory.

Presentations are solicited across a broad spectrum of topics pertinent to dielectric and piezoelectric materials and devices including:

• Multilayer capacitors
• Thin film processing, devices, and integration
• Piezoelectric materials and composites
• Applications of piezoelectric materials
• Lead-free piezoelectric materials
• Single crystal piezoelectrics
• Multiferroic materials and devices
• Theory and modeling of ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and dielectric materials

REGISTER NOW

Please register by 1 July 2009 to avoid paying a higher registration fee. Registration closes on 6 October 2009.

Abstract Submission:

Abstracts were due on 1 May 2009. Extended abstracts are due no later than 1 July 2009.

Meeting Format:

Following the traditional format of the US-Japan meeting, each session will consist of two plenary presentations, one from each country, followed by a number of short (3-4 minute) presentations designed to highlight the content of each poster. Each participant must submit an initial abstract when registering for the meeting, and an extended abstract (8 pages for plenary, 4 pages for contributed) in advance of the meeting. Bound extended abstract books will be distributed at the meeting for all conference participants.
