2009 Isotope Hydrology and Bio-Geochemistry Workshop
We are pleased to announce that the 2009 Isotope Hydrology and Bio-Geochemistry Workshop will be held at the LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University on
June 8-9, 2009.
Hydrologists use isotopic measurements to answer water resources questions relevant to streamflow, groundwater, and snow. Biogeochemical researchers use isotopic tracers to examine questions of chemical transport and residence times within ecosystems. However, achieving high quality results depends on appropriate sampling strategies and measurement techniques as well as informed interpretation and analysis of results.
This short course will benefit hydrologists and biogeochemical researchers seeking to learn how to use isotopes as key hydrologic/biogeochemical tracers.
The short course will focus on the teaching the fundamentals of isotope hydrology and biogeochemistry, providing case studies from local researchers, instrument demonstrations, and an optional hands-on computer modeling opportunity.

Parking:
The LaSells Stewart Center features ample parking across the street in the Reser Stadium parking lot as well as a new parking structure that is North of the CH2M Hill Alumni Center.
The campus parking lots are pay lots from 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Parking permits are available from automated kiosks in the lots. The full-day price is $5 or $1 per hour for up to four hours. OSU parking map.

Getting Here:
Corvallis is served by the Portland International Airport (PDX) which is approxmately 90 minutes to the North. Shuttle services is available every 90 minutes and will take you directly to the OSU campus. Additionally, the Eugene Regional Airport is located 45 minutes to the South of Corvallis and offers shuttle service on-demand to OSU.

Shuttle Service:
Corvallis is located 90 minutes from the Portland International Airport (PDX). Shuttle service is available eleven times per day, with a round-trip fee of $85. It is also possible to fly from PDX to the Eugene Airport, located 45 minutes from Corvallis. Shuttle service is also available from Eugene to Corvallis. Advance shuttle booking is required from Portland and Eugene.
