Kristina Stone

Hello! My name is Kristina Stone and I am a junior double majoring in Health Promotion and Health Behavior and Education. I plan on becoming a high school health teacher, but my dream job would be to eventually teach classes about social justice issues, community involvement and service work. I am very passionate about making our world a better place, protecting our environment and working to eliminate the injustices that plague our society. I think if one person can become educated and inspired about an issue and then spread their interests and knowledge to another, it starts this beautiful cycle of local and global change.

At the Community Service Center , I serve as the Social Change Coordinator. Throughout the year I will be organizing programs related to social justice and working with other campus organizations to raise awareness about problems and issues. Most importantly, I hope to give people the knowledge and resources to get involved and become more aware of ways to help others.

I love spending time with my friends and family, riding bikes, exercising, playing soccer, cooking and eating organic healthy food, and doing my part to make our world a better place.

Hallie Atencio

My name is Hallie Atencio and I am a native Coloradan . This will be my fourth year with the Community Service Center at Oregon State University.  I’m majoring in Pre-Health Care Administration and minoring in Women Studies.  My passions are with people with disabilities, civic engagement and women’s issues. I have volunteered with people with disabilities all of my life everything from working and volunteering at a children’s summer camp entitled Camp Paha to help serve Thanksgiving dinner.  I also have been involved with a lot of civic initiatives, including Y-vote and Citizen’s for Lakewood’s Future.  This past summer I spent the entire summer a full time volunteer for the  Women’s Bean Project, which is a transitional program for women who are chronically unemployed/ poverty an or out of the correctional facility.

Stellar Yi

I am Korean-American and I am the External Coordinator of the Community Service Office. I got involved early throughout my freshmen year at Oregon State . I am the Student Representative of a non-profit organization called Harambee Centre and I specifically help Ugandan Orphans fight HIV/AIDS and poverty. Fun fact: I love flying and I love to paint.

Yuliya Kostromitina

Hello, my name is Yuliya. I was born in Russia , and later moved to Ukraine before coming to America . I am a history major. I enjoy yoga, traveling, being outside, and reading. I work at the First Alternative Co-ops and the Community Service Center. Volunteering is very important to me, and I greatly enjoy both my jobs and OSU in general. I will be working on the newsletter, pamphlet, and the website as the Communications Coordinator.

If I could do one thing all day, it would be yoga.

Kaleena Tuffo

Hi my name is Kaleena Tuffo and I coordinate the Student Service Break (formally known as Alternative Spring Break) for the Community Service Center . I am currently a junior at OSU majoring in Sociology with a minor in Natural Resources. In my free time I love to do anything outdoors, like hiking, backpacking and running. I am very passionate about issues surrounding the environment and sustainability. I have been involved with the Student Service Break program since I was a freshman here. This program gives students the opportunity to spend their spring break doing volunteer work in another community. It provides students the opportunity to help out a community, while learning more about themselves and the communities they are a part of. I am very excited about this year because we will be taking two trips! It is truly amazing to see how much this program has grown; it is only the 4 th year it has been at OSU! I am very excited to see how it will grow this year!

Bisola Atinmo

Hey! My name is Bisola Atinmo, I’m Nigerian, majoring in Economics and dabbling in everything else. I got involved with the CSC in my Junior year because I’ve always loved the idea of volunteerism and giving back to the community but I’d never really had the opportunity to be involved. Working with the CSC has given me ample opportunity and my life is a lot better for it!
I also work as a Math tutor for several classes. I like that I get to show off to the dazed students how smart I am (J)
My biggest passion in life is Music. I love to DJ, especially like to spin House, Jazz, Hip hop and soul records. I also love to travel and want to see the whole world some day.
One piece of advice dear people: JUST DO IT! Like Nike says. If there’s anything in life that gives you immense pleasure and joy, just do it regardless of how ridiculous or ‘impractical’ it might be.
Peace!
