The Community Service Center provides leadership for Student Service Break, a program going into its third year at Oregon State University. SSB creates opportunities for students to serve others in surrounding communities, while challenging and developing themselves. Through a week-long community immersion experience Student Spring Break allows students to:
- participate in meaningful service and learn about critical community issues;
- gain a deeper understanding of social change leadership, diversity, and the ethical dimensions of service;
- explore theories and concepts pertinent to service including community, the relationship between charity and justice, and civic responsibility; and
- develop civic engagement skills.
If you would like more information or are interested in planning and/or participating in Student Service Break (March 22-29, 2007), please contact or come by the Community Service Center, or email Kaleen Tuffo at tuffok@onid.orst.edu
