Participating in Coalition for Community Dialogue provides students with opportunities for growth that we want to recognize and celebrate! For the 2013-14 academic year, we are piloting a certificate program. The certificate is a way for students to take their involvement in CCD to the next level. The following pages will describe the benefits of participation and the requirements for completion.

Why Join

Certificate participants will receive individualized attention from CCD staff, and they will have the first consideration for attendance at quarterly trainings.

Additionally, the Cohort Network Meetings, which are not open to the public, provide opportunities for certificate participants to connect to a more consistent community cohort of committed individuals. To allow time for relationships and trust to be built among participants, the only opportunities for new students to join the cohort is at the beginning of each term.

Learning Outcomes

By completing a certificate, students will be able to:

  • Analyze the ways that personal experiences connect to social systems
  • Identify the ways in which learning about others contributes to learning about the self
  • Describe the importance of emotions in communication for social justice
  • Define and follow strategies for effective communication and mindful expression
