A graduate student can elect to study Women Studies in the
following ways:
1. Primary field of study within the M.A.I.S. degree (Master of
arts in Interdiciplinary Studies). This means specializing in Women
Studies and declaring two secondary areas of study that complement
the primary field. One of these secondary areas can be Women
Studies also. Our areas of specialization include contemporary
women's issues; gender, race, and class; and international women's
issues.
2. Secondary field of study within the M.A.I.S. degree. This
means specializing in a primary area that is not Women Studies and
declaring Women Studies as one or two of the secondary areas of
study, or having three equal areas of study.
3. Graduate minor in conjunction with a Master's or Ph.D. in
another field of study. This means you receive a graduate minor in
Women Studies while you are working on a Master's or a Ph.D. in
another department.
