Research
Barry has taught both creative and academic writing courses at Oregon State since 1978. In addition to his fiction writing concentration in college, experience as a technical writer and editor has qualified him to teach courses in business, technical, and expository writing. Short fiction, however, remains his specialization and one of two personal avocations--the other being a free financial web site he authors to help individuals self manage stock market investments. Additionally, he regularly mentors Honors College students engaged in fiction writing projects, and twice he has been awarded LL Stewart Faculty Development Grants.
