Majors used for admission to a teacher licensing program may be American Studies, Anthropology, Art, Economics, English, Ethnic Studies, French, German, History, Liberal Studies, Music, Natural Resources, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Spanish, or Speech Communication.
However, since Elementary classroom teachers need to be generalists with a broad knowledge of subject matter, an interdisciplinary Liberal Studies degree is strongly recommended.
