Current Projects:

  • Communities coping with change and transition - I've been involved in several research and education projects related to natural resource communities and change including Wave Energy in Oregon (http://seagrant.oregonstate.edu/video/wave_energy/conway.html), Groundfish Disaster Outreach Program (http://seagrant.oregonstate.edu/sgpubs/onlinepubs/2007publications_catalog.html) and Towns in Transition: Managing Change in Natural Resource-Dependent Communities (video/study guide program available http://extension.oregonstate.edu/videos/video_details.php?vtp=VTP25)
  • Cooperative Learning / Research - I've been involved in several research and education projects related to the relationship between the fisheries management community and the commercial fishing community. Key projects include:
    - Improving Community Profiles for Oregon Fishseries and Coastal Communities
    - Communication in the Commercial Fishing and Fisheries Management Communities
    - Fishing Community Attitudes toward Socioeconomic Research and Data Collection by Fisheries Managers.
    - Communication in the Coastal Marine Recreational Fishing and Fisheries Management Communities.
    - West Coast Cooperative Fisheries Research
    - Evaluating the Human Dimension Side of Cooperative Fisheries Research
  • Personal and Group Leadership Education - I've been involved in a multi-disciplinary project that extends educational materials and training opportunities to watershed councils and other groups (http://seagrant.orst.edu/wsep).
