This follows a flurry of media attention since the paper was published in the peer-reviewed journal Social Science and Medicine (Volume 72, Issue 4, February 2011, Pages 486-493) including this wonderful piece from National Public Radio entitled, "Why Keeping Little Girls Squeaky Clean Could Make Them Sick."

Professor Clough specializes in the philosophy of science and epistemology more generally, with a focus on the intersection between these areas and feminist theory.   You can learn more about her and her research here.

Learning to Think
Like a Planet!

Feb. 20th, 2012 - Professor Allen Thompson's article "Learning to Think Like a Planet" was featured in the Winter 2012 Issue of OSU premiere research magazine, Terra.

"Our 200-year-long 'fossil-fuel party' has made modern life possible but has fouled the environment and ignited catastrophic changes in Earth’s climate.  In the face of what we have unintentionally done to Earth’s ecology, who shall we become?"

Honors for Scholarly Output

Sept. 22nd, 2011 - Stuart Sarbacker, assistant professor of philosophy, was presented with the Bill and Caroline Wilkins Faculty Development Award. This award is granted to a College faculty member to enhance teaching skills, improve curriculum, advance research opportunities, or take advantage of career development opportunities. Sarbacker was honored for his scholarly output, which includes one book already published and two in development. Since 2009, Sarbacker has developed five new courses and has plans for more courses focused on the traditions of Islam in south Asia
