She received an MA in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College in 2001, and PhD in Counseling from Oregon State University 2009. Her disseration research was a "Summative Evaluation of a Dolphin Assisted Therapy Program for Children with Special Needs". Her research interests include animal-human interactions including areas for animal assisted therapy for clients.
