Contemplative Practices and Life Outcomes Brown Bag

Four OSU faculty (John Edwards, Winston McCullough, Sarina Saturn, and Michelle Ribeiro) will host a roundtable brown bag discussion focused on contemplative practices as found in a variety of different cultural traditions and research on the effects of such practices on a variety of life outcomes, such as overall life satisfaction, health, and sense of purpose. The workshop will also include a meditation exercise.

Paths to Happiness: Meaning & Purpose Workshop

Paths to Happiness education program, led by Winston McCullough (OSU Psych Dept. adjunct instructor), with guests John Edwards (OSU Psych Dept. Chair), Sarina Saturn (OSU Psych Dept. professor) and Michele Ribeiro (OSU Counseling & Psychological Services). Focus of all 3 segments is ways to discover personal meaning and purpose in life. Workshop is interactive with group discussions and exercises. www.pathstohappiness.org 

Guided Group Meditation

Noon — 1:30 p.m. — Yoga class, coordinated by Angie Greenwood of Live Well yoga studio
2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. — Workshop, led by Winston McCullough

These events are part of Spiritual Wellness Week at OSU which runs Wednesday, November 7 to Saturday, November 10 and includes many opportunities for students, staff and faculty to learn personal ways to manage stress.
