Kelly G. Bacon Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Kelly G. Bacon, a 1972 graduate of Oregon State University, and his significant accomplishments in the field of government service, particularly his commitment to upholding the ethical standards. Applicants for the Kelly G. Bacon Scholarship must be a College of Liberal Arts major interested in pursuing a career in government service, sophomore or above by Fall 2008, a 2.75 GPA or higher, and an Oregon resident. Applicants with a record of volunteer and/or paid experience in community activities were given preference. The Political Science Department would like to congratulate Ian Nicholson on recieving this scholarship.

Centennial Scholarship
Three Awards were available for the Centennial Scholarship for students who uphold a minimum GPA of 3.5, have declared a Political Science Major and are returning as an undergrad to OSU Fall 2008. To apply, these students submitted a self-authored paper from a PS course which demonstrated their academic excellence and a one page statement on how the scholarship will help their education. Through delegation, the Political Science Department would like to congratulate Katherine Kahl, Shawn E. Kennedy, and Ian Nicholson on receiving a Centennial Scholarship.
