The Writing Desk in the Valley Library

The Writing Desk in the Valley Library will be open during all eleven weeks of summer session. As many of you may know, the Writing Desk is a free service that offers students a chance to get their writing peer reviewed by trained student writing assistants. Writing assistants can give feedback about a variety of writing topics including organization, paragraph development, transitions, thesis focus, and grammar. Meeting with a writing assistant can also help your students learn to write more clearly and professionally.

The Writing Desk is located on the main floor of the Valley Library in the Collaborative Learning Center. Until the end of the eighth week of summer session, the Writing Desk will be open Monday through Thursday 1 pm - 8 pm and Sundays 2 pm - 8 pm. For the last three weeks of the summer session, the Writing Desk will be open but for more limited hours. To make a half hour or hour appointment, students can sign themselves up on the schedules at the Writing Desk or call 737-8385.

During fall, winter and spring terms, the Writing Center will be back in Waldo Hall.
