Religion & Culture Certificate

The Religion & Culture Certificate is designed to provide undergraduate students with skills of critical thinking and virtues of citizenship as they explore the complexities of:
- The American tradition of separation of church and state;
- “Green” religiosity;
- Religious views of peace, toleration and war in the Middle East;
- Islamic critiques of western culture;
- The Buddhist legacy in the conflict between Tibet and China;
The Certificate is open to all OSU undergraduates as a supplement to any undergraduate degree program.
Completion of the Certificate requires a minimum of 29 credit hours, including:
A. 17 hours from religion courses in the Philosophy Department
B. 12 hours of approved electives from other departments, and is recognized with a transcript-visible notation.
