FALL PICNIC 2008

October 3, 2009

rain clouds
Another sunny day in Oregon! Perfect for a picnic!

sharyn
"Rain, schmayne! Let's party!" exclaims Dr. Clough.

Ginger cone-head
Ginger dresses up for the occasion in her new Elizabethan collar. She is
hoping to make her stage come-back in Anne of a Thousand Days. Her
head appears to be free-floating which, she hopes,
will lend authenticity to her performance.

chowing down
Well, sunbathing is out. Might as well eat!

A little known fact: this year's Philosophy Department Fall picnic hosted by Dr. Clough and Dr. Kaplan saw 10 faculty, staff, partners and 12 students, grad students, partners and kids.

Jonathan Kaplan
Dr. Kaplan, Philosopy Department chair and part-time gourmet chef, dons a different cap
for the picnic - that of an Australian bushman on the lookout for kangaroo. No worries, though.
The "barbie" produced lots of veggie burgers and chicken!

rain clouds again
Things seem to have cleared up a bit...

joseph orosco
Oh look! A rare sighting of the elusive Dr. Orosco! We were able to
coax him out of hiding with come bread crumbs and a slice of cheese...

Lisa and Theresa
Lisa Gonzales and Theresa Hogue are real rain worshippers!
Nothing says "picnic" to them like"rain!"
"Bring it on," they like to say! "No rain, no gain!"
(Notice the sagging tent above their heads...)

ethan and lydia
Looks like Ethan had one glass of rain water too many. Or maybe that was one veggie burger too many.
Anyway, Lydia offers Ethan a shoulder to lean on.

Leo the dog - meet Leo the office specialist.

ruby and awbrey
Ruby and Awbrey Willett drop in for a visit!

Little known fact: Ruby just woke up from a nap.

Tony
Tony Vogt, man of infinite cheeriness!

"Yoo hoo! Hello! It's time to play the $20,000 Pyramid Game!"

Little known fact: Dr. Clough would be awesome as a game show host!
Also, Dr. Clough and Dr. Kaplan donated $25.00 to the cause of the winner's choice.

Theresa Hogue
Theresa and Lisa were a team dedicated to winning for The Jackson Street Youth Shelter.
Unfortunately, whilst starting out strong, they went down with the category "Gelato Flavors."

OTHER CATEGORIES INCLUDED IN THIS GAME:
"Things Sarah Palin Would Say"
"Simpson's Characters"
"Stores You'd Find in Downtown Corvallis"
"Dog Breeds"
"Reasons Leo Thinks George W. Bush Should Be Impeached"

lisa
Lisa tries valiantly to think of some Gelato flavors.

the game
Leo, Pam and Lydia played for SafeHaven Humane Society and almost won!
But in the end, Cory and Andrew won the tie-breaker and won $25.00 for Willamette Neighborhood Housing.

round table
A wet, fun time was had by all - see you next year!
