Students who successfully complete the Professional Music Teacher
Education program will be able to begin their teaching career while
finishing work on the final 15 credits required for the Master of Arts
in Teaching (MAT) degree. These credits may be completed during
summers, evenings, and distance courses. The MAT degree will be awarded
when students complete all course requirements and pass their final
oral examination. Application
The Master of Arts in interdisciplinary Studies is a graduate program integrating three fields of study. This may be an excellent option for teachers seeking a Masters degree with a continuing license. Students work with an advisor to design a 45 (or more) credit graduate program geared to meet the specific needs of the student. One common program for music teachers has been the integration of music education, music, and education.
