Mari Stoner, soprano, is a second-year master's degree student studying opera performance in the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin. A native of Corvallis, Oregon, Stoner obtained Bachelor of Arts degrees in 2011 from Oregon State University in vocal performance and French. During her time at UT, Mari has appeared frequently in Butler Opera Center productions. Her most recent roles include Elisabeth in “Les enfants terribles,” an opera by Philip Glass, and Kate Pinkerton in “Madame Butterfly.” Last year, Mari performed the role of Babs in the Butler Opera Center production of “New York Stories” by Daren Hagen, as well as Sally in “Die Fledermaus.” This April, she will perform the role of the Queen of the Night in “The Magic Flute” production at Texas A&M – Kingsville. Mari will complete her Master of Music degree this May.
