Welcome to OSU Jazz Ensemble

The 20-member OSU Jazz Ensemble I is under the direction of Dr. Christopher Chapman. The ensemble features the most outstanding jazz saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm section players on the campus. The group performs professional level repertoire and holds concerts on campus and around the state of Oregon. Recent performances have included compositions from Kubis, Menza, Parker and Bellson. The group rehearses in winter and spring terms and meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Benton Hall. Auditions will be held the final week of classes in the fall term. Students interested in performing in this ensemble should contact Dr. Chapman for audition information. The course number is MUS 158 section 1.
Jazz Ensemble II also meets on Wednesday evenings in the winter and spring terms from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Benton Hall. The course number is MUS 158 section 2.
