Brief Vita



Ken Saul, principal trumpet with the Corvallis/OSU Symphony, holds the bachelor of music performance degree from San Francisco State University, where he studied with Joe Alessi, Sr. He continued his graduate studies in music composition at the Juilliard School before returning to San Francisco to study electrical engineering technology. Saul also holds a degree in electrical and computer engineering from OSU, as well as an M.S. in engineering management from NTU. He is presently employed as a senior engineer at Hewlett-Packard in Corvallis. Saul is a freelance performer around the region and has soloed regularly with the Linn- Benton Community College Band and in recitals. He gives frequent clinics on brass playing and instrument care around Corvallis, Philomath, and Albany, Oregon. He also is the owner of a small business, Ultra-Pure Oils, a manufacturer of high-quality synthetic lubricants for brass players.
