Directed by Maestro Marlan Carlson, the Corvallis-OSU Symphony (official site) regularly produces some of the finest concerts in the state. This website is devoted to providing excerpts from a variety of concerts. In addition to the Overture to Die Meistersinger Von Nuremberg, there is also an excerpt from the March 8, 1996 performance of the third movement of Beethoven's Emperor Concerto featuring Rachelle McCabe at the piano. From that same concert there is an excerpt from an exhilirating performance of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, the closing minutes of that performance. There is also a link to the Bela-Russian composer, Lev Abeliovich, whose Concerto for Piano was performed brilliantly by the pianist Alexander Tutunov at a concert on September 28, 2001. This performance will be part of a CD to be distributed internationally in the next year, devoted to the music of Abeliovich.
