Symphonic Band

http://oregonstate.edu/cla/music/symwind/Images/WindEns3.jpgThe Oregon State University Symphonic Band is under the direction of Dr. Brad Townsend. This fully instrumented concert band, containing 60-90 members, performs standard concert wind band/ ensemble repertoire, modern works for the medium and classic transcriptions from the orchestral repertoire alike. Recent performances have included pieces from composers such as Ralph Vaughn-Williams, Eric Whitacre, Robert Jager and Gustav Holst.

The Symphonic Band meets twice weekly in winter and spring terms (Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) in historic Benton Hall, room 202. It is open to all OSU students and no audition is required. However, there is a seating audition on the first day of class. The course number is MUS 150/350 section 3.
