At OSU, you'll find a dynamic community of
people passionate about music. Corvallis has become one of
Oregon's most vibrant centers for the performing arts, boasting
theater companies and dance troupes, a chamber music series, opera,
and a symphony orchestra.
Priding itself as a leader in music education, OSU offers rigorous degree programs in music taught by expert faculty. And all OSU students have the opportunity to select music as a minor. Through small class sizes, students have the advantage of working closely with their music professors while studying within the larger context of a major research university. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching's classification of U.S. colleges and universities ranked OSU in its "very high research activity" tier, making it Oregon's only university to earn that premier designation.
