U.G. Dubach Chair in Environmental Politics and Policy

The Political Science Program in the School of Public Policy at Oregon State University (http://oregonstate.edu/cla/spp/) is accepting applications to fill the position of the U.G. Dubach Endowed Chair in Political Science in the area of environmental politics and policy, with a strong focus on American politics.  This is full-time, 9-month position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (depending on qualifications). To be considered at the Associate Professor or Professor level, the candidate must have a strong record in the following areas: teaching; research and publications; and professional service. The level of achievement must be commensurate with faculty records granted the same rank at Oregon State University. 

Applicants should demonstrate a successful record in teaching and mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels.  The candidate should be able to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate level in environmental politics and policy, science and politics, and other relevant courses in the subfield of American politics.  In addition to pursuing an active research agenda, there is also the expectation that tenured faculty will have experience securing external grants. Required qualifications: PhD in Political Science, Public Policy, Public Administration, Environmental Policy, or related field.

Preferred qualifications: Productive and engaged research record; successful record in securing external research funding; experience with successfully advising graduate students.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The School of Public Policy (SPP) at Oregon State University is comprised of the Economics, Political Science, and Sociology programs, and is rapidly growing, both in faculty, mission, and regional prominence. In addition to providing separate and distinct undergraduate majors, the programs have collaborated since 2003 in delivering a successful Master of Public Policy Program (http://oregonstate.edu/cla/mpp/home) and anticipates offering a PhD in Public Policy starting in 2012 to graduate students interested in environmental policy, energy policy, international policy, science policy, social policy and rural policy. Faculty and graduate students also collaborate with colleagues in such colleges as Agricultural Sciences, Education, Forestry, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, and Science. The SPP is uniquely positioned to integrate groundbreaking research into emerging policies, practices and understandings of the world that will impact and influence local, regional and international policy decisions.

Assistant Professor in Climate Change, Energy and Policy
