Internships are required for all pre-service students. The internship was developed to give students without previous public/nonprofit sector experience the opportunity to work in the field under the guidance of an on site supervisor. However, any student in the program may elect to enroll in an internship. The student will take a minimum of 10 credits of MPP 510/SOC 510 to satisfy the program's service requirement. Interns should be looked upon as contributing staff members and given appropriate responsibilities and assignments in such areas as research, report writing, planning, administration, and public policy. Most interns serve for a minimum of 10 weeks, though some students may be able to serve a longer period. While the program encourages students to identify their own internships, we also welcome inquiries from potential sponsors. Please contact the MPP Director at:
