The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in English language arts prepares majors to teach in middle and high school settings. The twelve-month program offers master's level licensure in keeping with National Council of Teachers of English standards (www.ncte.org). The M.A.T. Graduate program gives students the opportunity to build a strong content-area advanced degree with pedagogical content area courses and advanced electives in the English department, and practicum requirements and licensure courses in Education.
