Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Alpha Theta is an international organization with over 120 chapters in USA and Canada. We are the first Greek letter organization for women, founded in 1870, and Kappa Alpha Theta now has more than 170,000 initiated members. Theta provides growth and leadership opportunities for young women and promotes academic excellence.
Mission Statement:
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, Kappa Alpha Theta exists to nurture each member throughout her college and alumnae experience and to offer a lifelong opportunity for social, intellectual and moral growth as she meets the higher and broader demands of mature life.
Symbol: The kite-shaped badge.
Colors: Black and gold.
Flower: The black and gold pansy.
Leadership Opportunities:
Our chapter has 27 positions and 6 different committees that all members can participate in. Also, Kappa Alpha Theta has members who are involved in more than 74 extracurricular activities and campus/community organizations, including the following:
