2014 MLK Day of Service Site Leader & Check-In Volunteer Sign Up

Submissions for this form are closed.

The Center for Civic Engagement is in need of site leaders and volunteers to help run our 2014 Martin Luther King Day of Service that will be held on Saturday January 18th.

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is about coming together to honor Dr. King's life and legacy and help further his dream for peace by serving our neighbors and communities. MLK Day is a perfect opportunity for us to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service. The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, builds bridges, breaks down barriers, addresses social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of strong, beloved communities.

Most of the projects will run in the morning but some may run in the afternoon. Site leaders can be students, staff, or faculty. Projects will span various issue areas.  Lunch will be provided for all site leaders thanks to the Community and Cultural Food Program!

We also need assistance with running check in and helping with set up from 7:30am until about 9:15am.

Site leaders responsibilities:

  • Be available from about 8am to 1pm or about 12pm-4pm on Saturday January 18th (times will be confirmed as we solidify our service projects)
  • Site leaders must be willing to do ice breakers, team building with group, be a liaison with the service site, complete service tasks at service site, facilitate reflection, collect evaluation feedback from participants, return Motorpool van upon return to OSU, and return materials and feedback to CCE staff upon return to campus. Further, instruction and details will be provided to all volunteers who sign up to be site leaders.

Please complete this short form if you're interested in serving as a site leader or helping with set-up/check in! Thanks so much! Events like this are not possible without the help from volunteers like you!
